Welcome to the website of Llandaff City Bowmen. C.I.O.
Registered Charity Number 1169666
Established in 1967, we are the only archery club in the Cardiff area with its own 18 meter/20 yards indoor and up to 100 yards outdoor shooting ranges that can be used all year round. The club building comprises of a range with up to 12 shooting lanes, a seated and standing spectator area, tea and coffee bar, and a toilet. There is disabled access throughout.
We are a warm, welcoming and friendly club, and our aim is to enjoy (the emphasis is on enjoy!) the sport of archery in its various disciplines. Our members shoot longbow, recurve barebow, recurve freestyle, compound bow and a few other more exotic bows.
Llandaff City Bowmen is an Archery Club. Registered with the Charities Commissioners’ for England and Wales under Registration No. 1169666, and as such, is a non-profit making Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Our aim is the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities and opportunities for the pursuit of the sport of target archery.
All surplus funds raised through membership fees, tournaments and courses are used to repair/purchase equipment, repair and maintain the club’s range building and grounds, and to generally improve the facilities for its members and the community.
Llandaff City Bowmen shooting times are 6 times per week:
Monday 6pm – 9pm
- Tuesday 6pm – 9pm
- Thursday 6:30pm 9:00pm
Friday 7pm – 9pm Saturday 2pm – 4pm Sunday 2pm – 4pm
During the outdoor season, opening times may vary, but generally the club may be open from about 5pm to shoot outdoors (weather dependant), moving to indoors as the light fades.
Also please note that our opening days/times are limited until we can sort ourselves out from the effects of the Covid 19 Pandemic and its associated lockdowns. This has also had a very negative effect on our beginner courses. We are trying our best to get this particular situation rectified as quickly as possible as this is the only recognised route into the sport.
Please bear with us.
Due to the very high demand and the already long waiting list, we must announce that until further notice,
we cannot accept new applicants for our Beginner Courses.
Our Beginners’ Courses are run on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, outside of normal club hours. If you are thinking of becoming an archer then you will need to complete a beginners’ course. For more information on our beginners courses, course enquiries and booking, click here.
Archery GB affiliated archers from other clubs are also welcome to shoot with us at any of the above times. If you are interested in joining Llandaff City Bowmen, please see our Membership page for more information. Click here for information on how to find us.
